Spanish midfielder Vicky Losada signed for City on a two-year deal in July 2021.
The 30-year-old moved to Academy Stadium after a hugely successful career at Barcelona.
Born in Terrassa, Catalonia as Maria Victoria Losada Gomez, the midfielder joined Barcelona’s youth set-up as a teenager and has since enjoyed a trophy-laden career with the club, winning six league titles, seven Copa de la Reina trophies, eight Copa Catalunyas plus a Supercopa Feminina and UEFA Women’s Champions League apiece.
Losada also enjoyed brief stints at Espanyol (2007-2008), Western New York Flash (2014) and Arsenal (2015-2016), winning a league and cup double with the latter in the FAWSL.
Whilst with the Gunners she was also named in the PFA’s WSL Team of the Year in 2015/16 as well as scooping the Supporters’ Player of the Season accolade.
Initially named as Barcelona’s captain in 2013, she assumed the position on her return from London and held the honour until her recent departure.
On the international stage, she boasts more than caps for Spain since her debut against England in a 2-2 draw back in June 2010, while she has also represented Catalonia on a handful of occasions.
Our #17 returned to the English game ready for a new challenge ahead of the 2021/22 campaign and did not have to wait long for her first goal or silverware, opening her account on her league debut in sky blue and lifting the 2022 Continental Cup.
