Swedish international Filippa Angeldahl joined City in September 2021.
The Uppsala-born midfielder joined from Swedish champions BK Häcken in her homeland, the Gothenburg-based club who absorbed City’s 2020-21 UEFA Women’s Champions League Round of 32 opponents Göteborg FC late last year.
She had spent the entirety of her career so far playing in her native Sweden for Vaksala SK, IK Sirius, AIK, Hammarby – where she was awarded the Damallsvenskan Most Valuable Player accolade in 2017 - and Linköpings FC.
On the international stage, she has represented Sweden at senior level since 2018, boasting six caps at the Tokyo Olympic Games where she helped The Blue & Yellow to a silver medal, playing 75 minutes in the showpiece final against Canada.
Eager to test herself in the FA Women’s Super League and take her game to the next level, she made the most to Manchester, signing a two-year deal with an option of a further year.
She did not have to wait long to open her goalscoring account for her new Club, netting in our 2019/20 FA Cup win over Leicester City, and claimed her first piece of silverware in March’s Continental Cup success against Chelsea.
