Bio

Teenage goalkeeper Khiara Keating is making a name for herself as one of the brightest young goalkeepers in the country.

The shot-stopper, who began her career with Manchester United, made the move to the Academy Stadium in 2015 and has already gone on to feature for the first-team.

Keating deputised admirably in the absence of senior stars Karen Bardsley, Ellie Roebuck and Karima Taieb in the 2021/22 campaign, making her senior debut against Leicester in the Continental Cup and preserving a clean sheet.

Growing up in Ardwick, the youngster played football in the park with her friends before her mother organised a team of children in the local community.

The budding starlet then joined a boys’ team before being scouted for United as a striker! When nerves got the better of her, she decided to try her luck in goal and unearthed a natural talent.

After moving to City, she began training with the first-team at 16 and made five appearances in the 2021/22 campaign: three in the FA Women’s Super League and two in the Continental Cup.

She also spent time on loan at AFC Fylde to gain more first-team experience.

Working her way through the England ranks, Keating represents the Lionesses at Under-19s level.
