Ruby Mace signed her first professional contract at City in June 2021.
Having previously been on the books at fellow Women’s Super League outfit Arsenal, the teenager made her debut for the North London outfit in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup quarter-final against Tottenham, before making a handful of further senior appearances.
Capable of operating at the heart of defence or in midfield, the youngstrer enjoyed a highly successful period at Birmingham City at the back end of the 2020/21 WSL season.
As part of a dual registration agreement with the Gunners, Mace featured eleven times for Carla Ward’s side and played a crucial role in helping the Blues stave off relegation.
The defender also contributed at the other end of the pitch in her breakout campaign, finding the back of the net on three occasions, including a brace in a 2-2 draw with West Ham United.
Furthermore, Mace has also excelled at England Youth level, turning out for various age groups having made her debut as captain for the Under-15s in October 2017 against Scotland.
Aiming to cement a starting berth in Gareth Taylor’s side, the 17-year-old’s obvious talent is coupled with a steely determination to improve and work hard for the team.
Ruby sports the #30 shirt and made her debut in a Continental Cup fixture against Everton in the 2021/22 campaign, en route to lifting the trophy in her maiden season with victory over Chelsea in the Final.
