Relive our emphatic victory over Tottenham at White Hart Lane, which took place on this day in 2011.

Four goals from Edin Dzeko and a further strike from Sergio Aguero secured maintained our 100% start to the Premier League season in convincing fashion.

The Bosnian striker gave us the lead just after the half-hour mark, beating Younes Kaboul to City debutant Samir Nasri’s cross, which Spurs keeper Brad Friedel couldn’t keep out.

A blistering counter-attack, orchestrated by Yaya Toure, resulted in the same combination linking up for our second, as Nasri picked out Dzeko in the centre and the striker rose to brilliantly divert his header beyond Friedel before the break.

Dzeko would complete his hattrick just ten minutes into the second half, with Toure picking up the ball on the overlap before drilling across the box, finding City’s number ten to poke home from close range and put us firmly in control.

And three soon became four as Aguero picked the ball up on the left-wing, darted past Michael Dawson and smashed a left-footed effort beyond Friedel.

Harry Redknapp’s side would pull one back when Kaboul headed home from a corner, but we restored our four-goal advantage shortly after in spectacular style.

Dzeko notched up his fourth after playing a one-two with Nasri before unleashing an unstoppable curling effort into the top corner, rounding off a perfect afternoon for Roberto Mancini’s side.
